Internet history in Turkey
It was in 1993 that the internet entered Turkey for the first time. This was done by a rental telephone line at Technical Middle East University called ODTÜ between Ankara and Washington at Kbps64 speed.
People could access home internet by dial-up at a very low level of speed. Turkey could join Standard Global System (GSM) for mobile communication and big cities like Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir could benefit from technology development.
Finally, Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) technology entered Turkey in 2000, and the dial-up method was outdated.
Regarding internet speed, South Koreas ranked first with 20.5 Mbps while the average speed across the world is 5.1 Mbps and Turkey ranked 55 (internet speed is minimum 6.2 and maximum 38.5 in Turkey). In a general and brief statistics in the use of the internet by Turkish people we can say that:

After choosing your favorite internet operator, you can order on the phone or in-person and buy internet. However, it is worth mentioning that if you go personally to the office, making decisions for choosing a panel and the related responsible individual’s explanation can be helpful.
Be sure to check internet boxes before entering the company (there are boxes of Internet companies at the entrance of Turkish houses indicating that these companies have already provided services in this collection and have no problem in terms of infrastructure and support) to avoid problems in the next steps.
There are two services provided by operators:
Monthly service: Short-term services for those who are staying for a limited time in Turkey, this service is not supported by most companies and is not affordable in terms of price.
Annual service: In the annual service, you will be given a list of the types of packages that you can select the desired panel according to your needs and workload, then a 2-year contract will be signed with you and according to the same specifications and costs, you are obliged to pay the bill of the relevant company every month. Note that the contract is for two years and if you want to cancel early, you will have to pay a fee as a penalty. It is also transferrable to another person if you want to move in this situation there is no amount as a penalty; the modem is installed and implemented by the company itself.
